vast, simple, deadly, quiet, intimate, cluttered

my apologies for the lack of rendering on some of these, there were some transportational issues with the originals.

  1. The only problem I have is that I can't really decided which picture should go with which theme, they are all very similar I would maybe work on exaggerating the theme for each picture

  2. i should have probably labled these, sorry. the top down is quiet, vast, cluttered, intimate, simple, and deadly is missing.

  3. I can't really tell which one is which, to be honest. Your perspective in all of them is really good, though, especially with the floorboards.

  4. I like Intimate, Cluttered, Simple ones. But I also think that they are all look similar.. It would be good if you put more variations on each of them. I like to see the color ones~!

  5. Hmmm personally, its hard to tell which one is which. However since compositions and perspectives are all good, you could be much better if you play with these more to make them fit to the concepts.

  6. vast: I'd make the room bigger
simple: lose some of the lamps, furniture and computer
deadly: nice. just wish the lines were darker, I can't see it too well
quiet: I think if the scene were at night it would further help illustrate the theme
intimate: only thing I can think of is adding a heart shaped frame for a picture, good though
cluttered: ? it isn't in your post

  7. I agree, it is hard to tell them apart. I'm not sure what's cluttered about the last piece? I do like deadly, I think more things could be stacked on the top shelf though to create more tension. I also think quiet is nice, because there's nothing more calming and serene than your bedroom.

  8. I think 2 is vast? I think it works fairly well, especially being able to see through that second door.

3rd one is cluttered? It works well, not sure I like the composition though.

4th is intimate? I really like this one, and Im pretty positive its intimate so thats good. Composition and rendering is nice, lots of detail.

last one is simple? This one is drawn very well too, and I like all the objects in the room.

  9. Good sketches, but the documenting (photos?) makes it hard to see some of the details.

Quiet - It's nice and quiet, the specific details of the room (it looks like an attic?) help with that.

Vast - This is a good start, and I like the full wood paneling, it can really work to your advantage. In this case I would choose a much lower angle, and look up at that high ceiling and wall with a more extreme perspective.

Cluttered - The right idea, but having everything pretty much neatly in a frame makes it look organized instead of clutter. Add more things, and disregard borders.

Intimate - Very nice, I like how specific everything is. It might benefit from being zoomed in just a little closer, though, on the most important objects.

Simple - Visually, compared to your other sketches, this isn't simple enough yet. Take some elements out, pare it down a bit more.

  10. Even though you commented back saying which is which they could all easily be changed, maybe change the composition in intimate? I have to say though simple is my favorite and these all could look very different and more concise pending on the color schemes you go for.

  11. I too had some trouble differentiating them. I like the similarity of environment though when they are all viewed together. I like how it implies a lot about the complexity of our everyday lives. Maybe, to differentiate them but keep the theme, emphasize the technique more. Harsher strokes / more contrast for deadly, etc.

  12. I'm having some trouble making out all the details, but I think I like the linework in the earlier ones better than the shading in the later ones.

It would be cool to see that emphasized in the final.

  13. all of these images look like they take place in somebody's house. maybe you could vary the setting to help certain ideas communicate a little better? i cant really tell which is which so maybe work on having your ideas show more.

1- you should draw a view out of the window to help vary the subject matter
2- quiet i think? i cant really tell tho, it ust looks like a drawing of the inseid of a house
3- cluttered is definitely one of my favorites and the composition works nicely
4- simple? very well drawn and the subject works nicely. use this as one of your finals
5- deadly? i can see how this could be deadly but it could use another element to help it work a little better

  14. I would probably go with the first one and the last two. Push the contrast and play up that lovely softness that intimate has. I encourage you to makes things a little messier (perhaps I am just a slovenly sort) but it feels like most homes have more random crap and it would make the places look less sterile and more fun to look at. Everything looks like a home furnishing catalog, if you don't wanna get dirty try some unexpected angles or extreme perspectives. good luck.

  15. I really enjoy your bottom two. I'd guess that they were intimate and simple, but its hard to tell. I think its interesting to find places in a house that portray the themes, i just think there needs to be more exaggeration in them.

  16. It is hard to tell the themes for most of these because they are so similar, so i agree that some of the themes should be exaggerated a bit more. my favorites are the last two because the view point works well the create an entrance into the space

  17. the second one and the last two could be given themes regardless of what you had in mind for them I think. Like others, I would have to agree that your settings are very similar. You should take a look at Jon Klassen and Hannah Konola, not for style, but just to check out the inventive ways they create space.
