Oops...

I completely forgot about this thing. Again. Man, I am not used to having blog stuff to post.
Well...
Here are a few things I did! Yea!
I'm not sure how character oriented they are, but it seems a lot of people are just posting stuff, so oh well...

I've kind of returned to my roots (i used to be a hardcore portrait artist) and been doing portraits for my thesis this semester, so here are the two that exist as of now:

Kevin Spacey, cuz he's awesome! And he has character! Yea...

And Daniela Sea, who is equally as awesome but who most people probably don't know.

And here's a piece I did for my illustrated book class! this one is more character oriented kind of? 8D

I am currently very divided as far as illustration versus character creations, pretty obviously I guess. I'm still unsure how to put my portfolio together to include both. I think one day I'll just have a secret identity and do two types of illustration. I love both of them too much to give up either.

Well anyway, here's the noid to make sure this looks like a post that belongs in a character development blog. And because his beautiful face is so appropriate for the end of this post.

Hot off the Press!

Say hello to 1/3 of my illustration concepts final.  It's a poster / packaging / album design.  This piece will hold the envelope that holds the cd, and unfold to be a poster.  On it's reverse side will be all the bands lyrics and another illustration.  I'm also planning on making and illustrating the envelope to house the cd as well.  I hope that time permits.

Posters and Words on Wheels

Two posters done for my Lifestyle: Body and Behavior class. We just put up or combination show with Illustrating the Edible in the Illustration gallery, I'm pretty over-excited about it!

And the final artwork for my Words on Wheels entry.

Botched Words on Wheels

I know, the size dimensions are wrong. I know, the directions were very clear. I know, I'm an idiot. But here it is anyway, for whatever it's worth.

Wordz on Wheelz

New Piece for Illustration Concepts for the Words on Wheels dealy.  (Just to prove I am getting SOME work done over the course of my week.)  I like it!  For now.

what the what?!

well, it seems michael was on to something...
i just saw this as a pop up ad, and i thought you'd enjoy knowing that your "bad" character redesigns are, in fact, just as good as things being put to use. wow.

Just a preview of the two character mascots. Maybe you can tell which you are more likely to see?

Crystal Slomp in the Principal's Office Again

You just can't tackle em, man.

[Ew! It looks all murky and dark and disgusting when I upload it here and on Flickr, but on Photoshop it's all light and crisp and nice... what's going on?]

The Revision

My Mason BBQ ad!

Sticker Design Submission

Mica sticker design - I was asked by Becky to submit one really quick, even though I didn't have any intentions of participating.  They only had like four entries, so I put this together.  It's a bike, which I find extremely difficult to draw. Aside from the 3 second background, I really like how this turned out!  I just pulled the letters from another project I've been working on.  If you like it, perhaps vote for it?  I'm not trying to monopolize the MICA contests though.

TARGETS!!!!

So I'm just getting used to sitting down and writing a blog. I started my own called mono-saturated, go check it out. Anyway I'm posting some stuff I've been doing outside of class. It's basically a series of shooting gallery targets modeled after famous movie monster/villain's. Right now they're in a digital phase but later I'd like to screen print them on big pieces of paper and host an event/performance where I'll have a bunch people can shoot with a paintball gun. So stay tuned.

Mason, Jimmy, Maggie, and the Attic. Also a sketch.

This last one is a sketch for one of the print ads for my final. Will be inked an colored digitally.
