  1. I think you did a good job with the harsh shadows, but I'd like to see some more detail with your lines. I think there is a lot of potential for it in the hair.

  2. I'll agree with the comment above, i think your piece is strong as far as the contrast and shape goes. I totally buy that.

I still don't completely understand what's happening in this image though... balloons attached to someone's eyelids are pretty out there i suppose, i guess i'm left saying "WHAAA???" more than i am "thats not what i expected"

  3. Those balloons could use a bit of detail. Try make them look shiny and plastic but don't get carried away. Only other suggestion would be to work into that white eyelid a bit more, it looks like it could be open because there aren't enough small folds in it.

The stark contrast is really working well for you :)

  4. i sort of agree with the not understanding what's going on. The image itself is really quite beautiful just in the drawing aspect of it, but maybe you should make it more clear what is so weird about it? I feel like with thi image we know it's weird but we don't know why and that's what makes it hard to process. Like is she supposed to be crying balloons? or are her eyelashes balloons? maybe try to figure out how to convey specifically for example if she cries balloons that her tears actually are transforming into balloons

  5. yep, she is crying ballons! I would have that in mind when I do the final piece.

  6. Oh, ok. I can see that now that you tell me what's going on. It could definitely use some clarity. There is a nice contrast and I would just work on the eyes.

  7. Even though it might not follow the "that's not what i expected" prompt as well, the image itself is really beautiful, and I think trying to make it clearer that she's crying balloons by adding teardrops or something would just make it look..hokey? i dont know, but I think it would take away from the image by becoming overtly obvious.

  8. ahh yeah, I thought at first balloons were holding up her eyelids. Not sure how to get your intention to come across... I agree with Justin. I think the hair could be worked a little more clearly, but otherwise it's beautiful.
