  1. very cute idea, I feel like the composition could be more exciting like if you changed the angle a bit, or made it more close up so there was less empty space

  2. This piece is so cute! I think you already have a really good grasp of the idea of negative and positive space. You could try getting rid of the lines delineating the walls?

  3. Yeaa! Maybe just more use of black on the side of the robot's head I think.

  4. I also like the cuteness of this piece!
Especially the television and the patterns of the wall is the best.
But since television is cuter than the robot, which is your main subject, I think you should emphasize it more~ to make it more cute kkk

  5. Line still seems to be playing a pretty central role but it is a really sweet picture. The left side feels a little heavy at the moment (as most of your darks are concentrated there) maybe try playing around a bit with adding another black shape on the right or just messing with lights and darks throughout the piece.

  6. I agree, this piece is so adorable. It feels like there is maybe too much white, i feel like more black would make it better maybe.

  7. This piece works with the prompt well and I immediately understand it. I do think it's unbalanced, too much white on the right side and too much black on the left. I think you could define the robot on the right with less line-work, it would be more balanced overall.

  8. i agree with deming, this is a really cute image but i think it could do without so much empty white space. also, using a ruler for those vertical lines would make the lines neater and less distracting.

  9. I love the concept, very cute. I think that you could add more black to the piece, and not rely so much on line, though.

  10. It's so cute! the one thing is maybe have the robot and the TV looking at each other to create some atmosphere between them.

  11. I really enjoy the humorous quality of this piece. I think the wacky wallpaper / designs really help to give atmosphere in a simplistic way. One thing though that might help would be to add some sort of highlight along the back corner of the TV to set it apart from the wallpaper.

  12. I love this piece. I think it's funny, clever, and clearly fits the assignment. The one minor thing I would think about fixing the stance of the robot. His footing doesn't look right given the angle of the floor.

  13. This is so cute, I liked it when it was a sketch and I'm glad you used it for this time, made give the robot man a bit of a shadow just to really pull him down, a side from that I really like it

  14. this is a very simple design but i feel like it is more of a contour line drawing in some places like the robot on the right. I think the balance of light and dark is a little bit uneven, but this could be fixed if you did a different pattern on one of the two walls in the background.

  15. Cute image. I also like how you defined the walls with pattern. I agree with maybe some black on the side of the robot's head. Overall, well done.

  16. claire-- very cute. love this idea. i agree with the other feedback. id also say:

1.) i'd trim maybe a 1/2 inch off the right side, so the black and white balance is more even (the left side feels like its running off the page, so that'll help).

2.) i'd work on thickening (but organically, not like a solid same thickness outline) the lines you use for the thought bubble and the robot itself. some of your classmates have some good examples of that up here.

    that'll help!

  17. It's clean, and the boy robot is convincingly smitten.
Nice job with the patterns in the wallpaper.
I think you might want to move the "camera" in a little closer, though. It could add a bit more drama.

  18. the concept is adorable, and overall, very well executed and balanced! You rely fairly heavily on line for the robot. Maybe you can make some of those lines into shapes, and fill in some of the shapes made with the lines (like the side of his head could be black while the front and top remain white).
