  1. I think that with this black and white compostions I wouldn't touch anything. It says everything and I think it works great.

  2. I agree that it works really well as a composition, and I really enjoy looking at the shapes in the dark areas.

  3. I would just bring a little more white into the surfer's right side.

  4. Yup yup only thing I would think about is maybe making the surfer stand out a bit more he gets a liiiiittle lost out there.

If you really wanted you could try throw some storm clouds off in the distance to create some sort of depth but Im enjoying how graphic this is on its own.

  5. perfect balance! so much tension! it's killing me.

the ooony nitpicky thing is maybe the curve coming down from that wave. Instead of flattening out at the end maybe bring it back up a little bit, then you can get a circular thing going on, I think it'll really move the eye around

  6. I think all this piece is missing is the final inking.

if you could manage without messing up what you've got going on here, maybe i'd suggest adding more clouds in the distance like jessica suggested, OR, maybe referencing the great wave of kanagawa more, since you've already seemed to have been looking at it. i think it might make the piece a bit funnier. just a suggestion tho, if it doesn't work it doesn't work.

    good stuff!

  7. I don't think the surfer gets lost because my eyes travel the whole piece. Looks good.

  8. i love the tension created from the wave against the white, too. I do think the surfer gets lost though- the white of his silhouette could be clearer. The white shapes in the clouds could also be less pronounced; right now they're taking away from the surfer. It looks like it's supposed to be lightning..if it is, it could look really awesome with finer lines, like actual lightning has.
