Nice! I really think your idea and composition work for the exercise really well. The only thing I would be concerned with would be the negative space in the upper left hand side, if its solid black it could off balance the image so giving it texture like you did in your sketch would be sweet. Good luck!
The concept is fantastic, I really love it! I would suggest doing something to the upper left corner, maybe put in a meteor or something else that you find out in space. Other than that the drawing and perspective look great, as well as everything else :)
I really like the concept in general. I am not sure the subject is coming toward to viewer or going outward, the perspective strengthen the composition. I wish you have more details like stars in the background so that it gives you more depth.
Adding some plasma beams was a good way to give a little more white to the piece. Stars! Stars would be a nice touch. I also think cropping the little planet on the bottom right would add a little more interest.
Cool, maybe you could do something to accentuate the explosions that the laser beams are producing on planet earth? Otherwise I have no qualms with it.
The spaceship is really awesome and works well against the black background. I think maybe some more stars or whatever in the background might make it a little better and break up back space a little bit
Yeah, the composition of this piece is very strong. Very clear with the elements of the piece. I wish that there is more dramatic explosions on the earth. Nice!
Looks great in high contrast. Is spaceship Jesus blowing up earth? I am not sure how I feel about the slivery moon. If you were to leave it in i might make the thinnest white line to indicate the other side. Otherwise ditch it for a sprinkling of stars throughout.
i love this idea, its funny and the composition is fun. but i think that planet in the right corner got lost you should add some craters or something and get it back in there, cause it was really cool.
This image is awesome. your composition is really good and humorous. i think that you could use some variations of light and dark within the spaceship. Also maybe throw some stars in the sky or somethign
Great choices of positive and negative space, and I love those spirals of flame coming out of the Jesus ship - nice stylistic touch, don't lose that! The crescent in the bottom right corner is not contributing to the composition. You need either more or less - a starry texture, or more of those crescent shapes in the upper left area of the image to balance it out.
However, I think you could play at making the earth even more insignificant. This is our lord and savior after all! Why can't his ship be galactic in size?
Haha, this is excellent! Awesome idea for sure, and conveyed well. Stars in the background, as pretty much everyone has said, would be nice, but no major qualms.
Doug- Now that's badass. You're on it. Only "concern" i have it for the textures/marks/info on the top of the cross-mobile. Dont get too "Line-y"... remember, this one is about shape. If you want to commit to some shapes for the top for a texture, do it, otherwise, scale it down some.
otherwise, you've got some solid feedback here. go to town.

ReplyDeleteI like spaceship and the lasers. I'm just wondering if you're going to put stars and planets in the background. The moon is a nice touch.

ReplyDeleteSo hilarious. Everything is clearly defined and I think the lasers or whatever its shooting works a lot better in this one than your sketch.
ReplyDeleteMy one small suggestions would be make the right side of the front window black, or black with stripes like the front pane.
other than that two thumbs up
another nitpick comment would be, does the moon ever appear as a crescent from space?
ReplyDeleteSo cool! Maybe add some star shapes in the back.

ReplyDeleteShit! Those WERE lasers!
ReplyDeleteI like this piece a lot. A whole lot.
