Geppi's, Collage, and Valentines Day sketches.

Snap's sanity snapped.
Only a couple of my quick thumbnails
Final sketch.  I'll most likely be using colored pencil and watercolor.

  1. Polar bears are the besssst.
One thing you could consider is zooming out a bit more (kinda like the penguins) to emphasize their embrace. Think about a light source, and is it snowing?

  2. I would zoom out of the valentines images more.

  3. Both are so cute!

I think I like the penguins even better because of the added element of the scarf. Seems like it takes more advantage of you being able to add whatever you want to make the animals as cute as possible.

  4. I agree with Trace regarding choosing the penguins over the bears.

However, both have a very strong element of cuteness so it could go either way. It'd be cool if you implemented a 3rd object to the bear piece (like the scarf) to see how they can interact with it.

  5. I like the negative space created with the two polar bears, but I do think it would be stronger zoomed out.

  6. The penguins one is so adorable! I'd go with that and zoom in a bit more. Also, establish a light source. Awesome job!

  7. Adorable! I don't think the negative space works for me, but if you zoom it out I might leave it like that. :) Good luck!

  8. I agree that if you go with the polar bears you need more of a sense of space. If you're wanting to keep it more zoomed in perhaps add some more interesting elements like snow, or more details in the fur that breaks up the space and keeps it from being too monotonous.
    But super adorable!

  9. Personally I just want you to zoom out so you can see more of the body's but that's because I'm picturing them really chubby and cute. But I agree with Grace I really like the negative space, maybe if you zoomed out enough to see the curve of their necks?

  11. Frankly, I think the penguins image is the better of the two ideas, but if you do want to go with the bears, we need to see more of them and something that suggests love as strongly as the shared scarf wrapped around the penguins.

  12. I'm fond of the bears. I'd definitely keep their poses and the negative space between them. I suppose you could pull back like the other comments are saying, but don't show their whole bodies or I think it will suck the drama out of your composition. I also agree on considering your background.

  13. The penguins are cuter but the bears show more love which would be best for this assignment.
