Valintines card

  1. I love this. I think the pattern in the polkadot pants really helps break up who's leg is who's.

  2. Really nice figures, i like how entangled they are. I think you did a really great job adding in a lot of small details that make this card so effective, like the tile floor and the accurate table and mugs. And the polka dots as Marissa said are really helpful.

  3. Interesting composition and main focus. I'm really glad you didn't include any more of the characters and kept it down low.

  4. The different patterns in their legs help keep us from getting confused with which legs go to who. I like that you're keeping the wall beside them solid, otherwise there's the possibility this could get too busy. :)

  5. I love the composition and the volumes of the legs, too.
However, I think it would be better if you extend the other edge of the table to the right, just like what you do to the male's side.. so that you can also correct the female's hand too.. I hope this helps.. :) Good luck!

  6. The girls right leg is a little too thick. It kind of makes it difficult to tell that it is further back in space. I love that the floor tile isn't completely covering the lower space. I'd definitely keep that area light.

  7. The guy's leg is getting a little lost but a harsher line or shadow would solve that. Other than that, I think it looks great!

  8. This is great! I also love the perspective and how you have cropped the characters.
Depending on how you go about executing the pace I think that it could be a very interesting piece with varying line weights. Playing around with that in the legs could really pop the entanglement.

  9. Cute! The polka dots idea is great! I love your color selection that you wrote in, and I can really see it come together with that in mind. Love the entanglement.

  10. Great composition! It is very dynamic, my eye moves from leg to leg to leg to leg. The top polka-dot leg seems a bit too curved...or maybe more shadow as the leg muscle squishes onto the lower one.

  11. I wonder if it might be more effective to have a larger table? When I first looked at it, I got the image of a couple messing around with their legs under the table where no one could see (like a more aggressive version of footsie?) but then I realized the table was very small, and this activity suddenly became very exposed.

  12. This is pretty dynamite. Watch how you handle things like the table, but your concept is strong and I think this method of executing it will be effective.

  13. Her right thigh is a little too big, but with that fixed, varying line weight, and color, this piece is going to be really successful. The patterns and composition are appealing and would definitely catch my eye if I saw it at Hallmark. I would keep the size of the table the same. It feels like an intimate coffee date. I don't think couples would be this intensely tangled at a larger table at a restaurant.
