Was thinking of adding the doilie border, but I'm not sure. Any input on possibly adding the dart element to it as well? Thanks!!

I say go with the doily border
ReplyDeleteYea, loving the doily as well. Such a funny idea, love this image! Not sure what a dart looks like in this situation.
ReplyDeleteGross animal choice but I like your reasoning behind it.
ReplyDeleteI agree to go with the doily around the Valentine. It brings the idea of gross and love together.
The background maroon does come off a bit strong, so maybe tone that down a little to make sure it works out.
All other color choices work nicely.
I think the border works and helps emphasize the whole love thing. This is so gross, and precious, and adorable.

This is unusual, but in a good way :) I think I would fix the darts since it still looks unnatural to me. Good luck ~
ReplyDeleteSnails mating! I agree that the background is a bit dark. I would also like to see some more shadows where the two snail bodies meet to emphasize the fact that they are "hugging".
ReplyDeleteYou actually made snails kinda cute, which is quite a feat. The doily definitely makes it seem more about love.
ReplyDeleteI'd go with the doily, because without it, a lot of the "love" theme is lost, even with the warm pink color scheme.
ReplyDeleteThe snails and everything in side the image is looks good to me, but I actually think the doiley needs to be reworked in order to fit. To me, it looks like the image is simply sitting on top of a cloth doily rather than them being the same image. I say, darken the doily so it's closer to the values in the image.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really sweet idea. I love the color palette, because it's so typical Valentine's day. I agree that the doily should match a color in the illustration and the background should be lightened a pinch.
