3 aliens and cute->brute works

This was a first homework assignment of this Character Development class. I tried to create the good and evil, but it just looks like 3 normal aliens. I have polished this more than I did show this in class.

This is the cute to brute assignment. I feel ashamed to show this because you guys have done brilliantly crazy great works, but this is my valuable work I did. It was fun to do this though.

Daniel_Banks(Portrait)

This is actually a 2years old work. He is my friend, Dan. I drew this as a class work when I was in Montgomery Community College.

This work is used roughly by a 4B pencil. I set up a light from left and top, and the figure shows its shadow that is touched rhythmically in depth and reflected light with good detail.

Hello

I draw comics. At least, I've drawn a few, and I enjoyed that, so. In the future, I'd like to draw more. I like entertaining people with my drawings.

Cute to Brute

My "Cute to Brute" assignment...turned out a bit freaky, but that's why I'm satisfied with it, honestly.

Fat to Fatter

I'm really, really interested in seeing everyone's "Cute to Brute" pieces!! I was madly curious about what everyone did, I'd really like to know more!

Er, I'm not sure if I should post mine...it didn't exactly make it into the "PG" category, now that I think of it.

Screen Print - In Progress

Making films for my illustration concepts project.
It's my "Born Predator" poster,
an illustration of an internet predator.
It's a re-conceptualization of the big bad wolf
from little red riding hood.

It's going to be a 5 color print:
Black (or dark purple), Red, Orange, Pink, and Purple
I'll post pictures of the final project.
I'm excited to print it this weekend!

Weight Gain

A 3/4 colored version of my in class work from last weeks class.
I like them colored, and I named him Dain.

I'm also glad I now have permission to post to the blog!

the fat end of the pool...

... by the time i was done with this, i found myself loathing the old lady in the swim cap.
"what're you looking at, you old loon!!?!?!"

So I think this new sort of digital shading looks a little wack here, It might just look hotter with just the line art, but thats probably largely because I went in really tentatively with the gray and it as with all things should be all in or all out. This is what I learn from watching Sons of Anarchy on Hulu. Actually the guy who decided to go all in was set up by the ATF and his wifes head exploded, so that really wasn't a moral.

Still, in regards to art, All in All out. TV biker gangs aren't illustration.
This is something I'm working on for another class, my thesis class. An illustration for an article about Men in dresses and fashion.
Currently it's only at the final drawing stage, soon it'll be digitally colored, but I like the pencil drawing well enough. I figured it was pretty character oriented, and I haven't posted yet so...

This overweight dog thing is now much better.

One time I dated this girl that was really skinny, Dracula feet hands skinny. It was kind of a train wreck of a relationship because we were too young to be as serious about stuff as we were, and she was really really off her rocker. Sometimes I think that might be why I really like drawing things that are fat as fat can be.

A sampling

A small sampling of work I do involving characters of mine, unrelated to this class. Character development is basically what I do with my spare time - to me it means trying to create people of fiction that can live and breathe and affect us in the real world. More than just being able to relate to a character, I want to feel like I know them as if they were friends of mine, and really understand what they go through and be interested in their stories.
It's all about sharing and magnifying emotion.
